Transom is a custom woodworking and remodeling company located in Providence’s West End. We create thoughtful, well-designed spaces and wooden furnishings. We deliver custom woodworking, renovation and sawyering services to Southeast New England homeowners and businesses interested in individualized solutions to their most challenging design problems.

Partnering with tree services and local municipalities, Transom is working to bring as much of the lumber destined for landfills back into the supply stream as beautiful, local, high quality and hard to find lumber. We are also working to use this reclaimed lumber to create a product line of unique slab and artisan furniture products.

In 2018, Transom purchased a historic building in Providence, RI that was the site of the original A.T. Cross manufacturing plant. Located at 53 Warren Street on the west side of Providence, the location includes a 3000 square foot timber structure on a 1/4 acre of land. The renovation of the building began in the spring of 2018, and once completed, will serve as the businesses headquarters, including a wood shop, lumber making facilities, and office/studio space.
